Fire Evacuation Exercise

In the event of an emergency, it is important to us that the families, staff and visitors of The Shepherd Centre are evacuated safely and efficiently. As such, TSC will be having an emergency response and evacuation exercise (also known as an ‘evacuation drill’) at our next Sing and Grow on Wednesday 16th November. The ‘evacuation drill’ will be between 10.55am and 11.25am.

This drill is designed to ensure all staff are trained and practiced in responding to emergencies with you and your child in case they should occur whilst you are in our centre, and as a workplace health and safety requirement. As you arrive at Kidscape next week we’ll remind you about the drill and talk with the children about the ‘practice’ drill that will be happening and how we will be ‘listening’ for the alarm and what to do when we hear it.

To help the children understand and to make the most of the fabulous real life ‘listening and language experience’ that it will be, it would be great if you are able to talk to your child/children during the week prior to coming to Kidscape about the ‘practice’ drill, what it’s for and what we’ll be doing.

It would be appreciated if you could all remember to ‘sign in’ at Reception on the day of the ‘evacuation drill’ to help with roll-call procedures.

Please see below list of instructions of what you are to do when the alarm is sounded:-
