As many of you have experienced, we have been fortunate at The Shepherd Centre to be able to act on behalf of the NDIA as ‘Transition Providers’ and facilitate the planning process for our families. This, however, will end as the scheme transitions across NSW to different planners following a state wide tender process for a longer term approach. As such, our role in facilitating planning meetings for families will come to an end on 30th June.
So we can assist as many families as we can before this time, you may see different team members at your centre for your regular sessions and groups as we focus on this priority. If you do have a planning meeting booked in May or June, please make it a priority to attend as we will have very limited scope to reschedule these meetings, and we will be doing what we can to prepare with you as much as possible prior to the meeting to make them as effective as possible.
Please be assured that this change will not affect your services in any way. Although we may not be able to facilitate the planning meetings for you after June, The Shepherd Centre team will still very much be a part of this process with you, with pre-planning meetings, support before, during and after meetings as needed and requested, and with information for you and your family on services and programs, and ways we can assist.
We will be in touch with you individually in the coming weeks with more information about how we can continue to support you. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns about NDIS for you and your family, please don’t hesitate to contact any member of your team, or your local centre and we will be more than happy to help.
