What we offer
People at The Shepherd Centre
“Working at The Shepherd Centre, as cliche as it sounds, is really like being a part of a family. Everyone is working towards a common goal, whether they are a clinician, a member of the Fundraising & Marketing team, or a data analyst!”
Sam Meisner-Lemon
Planned Giving Officer, Fundraising and Marketing Team
“I love working in an organisation that delivers a world-leading early intervention service for families of children who have permanent hearing loss. The Shepherd Centre’s family focused approach is comprehensive, supportive and positive for children and their families as well as the professional team.”
Sally Hewett

The Shepherd Centre is a one-stop-shop for families, using an integrated approach to give every child with hearing loss the best access to sound and speech. Come and join our multi-disciplinary team as a Child and Family Counsellor, Audiologist, Speech Therapist (also known as a Listening and Spoken Language Specialist), Early Educator or as part of our essential Clinical Administration support team.
Our Preschool Programs are currently run from our Liverpool and Wollongong centres, offering small, language-rich environments to support children both with and without hearing loss in an integrated environment. As an early educator, you’ll be joining preschools which were both rated as ‘Exceeding’ the National Quality Standards (NQS) for early childhood education in all seven of the assessed Quality Areas.
Use your finance, governance, people and culture, legal or risk management skills and expertise to make a difference to children with hearing loss. Our Operations team provides an effective and efficient range of support services to enable The Shepherd Centre to do its great work. Its no surprise that in our last “people and culture survey”, 93% of staff described their work as “extremely meaningful”.
Our Business Insights and Innovation team works in partnership with business owners to develop and implement new programs, products, processes or services with the aim of improving efficiency or effectiveness. Use your analytical and stakeholder management skills to play a key role in developing data insights and applying them to improve our service for children with hearing loss, as well as driving the initiatives that contribute to long-term excellence and progress.
Over 50% of The Shepherd Centre’s funding comes from our generous financial supporters. Use your marketing skills to support the clinical team in providing the best experience for families with a child with hearing loss. Use your fundraising skills in a key role across our broad fundraising portfolio, including: trusts and foundations, major gifts, corporate partnerships, direct marketing, tele-fundraising, events, digital and social media marketing and bequests.
