Vote for Eden: Our Alumnus is a Westfield Local Hero Finalist

Eden, an alumnus of The Shepherd Centre and a Hear For You attendee, has been named a finalist in the 2026 Westfield Local Heroes program, and we would love your support.

The Westfield Local Heroes program celebrates people who give their time, energy and heart to make a difference in their community. The winner in each Westfield destination takes home a $20,000 grant for their organisation, and this year, Eden, now 12, is one of the finalists.

Finding his voice

You might already know Eden’s story from our 2025 Impact Report. He was just four weeks old when he was diagnosed with bilateral mild to moderate hearing loss. Early intervention at The Shepherd Centre, alongside the unwavering support of his family, helped him find his voice and develop the confidence he carries with him today.

From attendee to advocate

Eden is also a young entrepreneur. He has launched Hibbitz, his own line of hearing aid accessories made from recycled Jibbitz charms. He started Hibbitz to help kids with hearing loss feel confident and empowered, just like he does, with a mission built on inclusivity, creativity and empowerment, with a splash of fun.

Giving back has become second nature to Eden. He has fundraised for The Shepherd Centre since he was little, recently ran the City2Surf solo, donates a percentage of Hibbitz profits, and advocates for children with hearing loss whenever he gets the chance.

Supporting deaf children is close to his heart, and now it’s our turn to give back to him.

Vote now

Voting is open now until 20 September, and every single vote counts. If Eden wins, The Shepherd Centre will receive a $20,000 grant, helping us continue supporting deaf children to reach their full potential.
