Thank you, Osaka – A powerful day of connection and conversation

This week, we were honoured to host Power of Speech: A World of Hearing, A World of Choice in Osaka, bringing together leaders, families, and professionals to explore what’s possible when children with hearing loss have the choice to receive support that’s right for them, right from the start.

Showcasing early intervention on a global stage

Through emotional stories and expert perspectives, guests experienced the impact of The Shepherd Centre’s world-leading early intervention program.

Attendees including Ms Nancy Gordon, Australia’s Commissioner General for the World Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai, Ms Yoko Kamikawa, Chair, LDP Hearing Loss Measures Promotion Diet Member League, Ms Hanako Jimi, Secretary General, LDP Hearing Loss Measures Promotion Diet Member League, Professor Omori, JORL-HNS Chair, Professor Takagi, Director, Hearing, Speech and Language Centre, Shizuoka General Hospital, Professor Yamamoto, Director of Otolaryngology / Comprehensive Ear and Hearing Center Commander  at Kobe City Medical Center General Hospital, amongst other distinguished guests, heard firsthand how these approaches have transformed lives.

Why early support matters

One parent shared, “We decided to pursue The Shepherd Centre because we wanted Oliver to have the best chance in life, we wanted him to experience everything that any other child would be able to experience.”

“We’re deeply grateful to everyone who attended and contributed their insight, curiosity, and compassion. Their energy made this event unforgettable,” said Dr Aleisha Davis, CEO of The Shepherd Centre.
