This Giving Day, we raised $160,000 to help children with hearing loss

With only 38% of our running costs covered by government funding, fundraising is vital if we are to meet the ever-increasing needs of our children and their families.

One of the biggest days on our fundraising calendar is the annual Giving Day, when we ask our generous donors to dig deep to help us fulfill our mission in helping children with hearing loss.

And for each Giving Day, we feature one of our star students as the face of the day – in this case, it was 20-month-old Louie who started attending The Shepherd Centre at just two-months-old.

Since receiving his cochlear implants at five-months, Louie has made incredible progress. Check out the video below for the moment Louie hears his family sing to him for the first time.

Thanks, in no small part to Louie’s combination of cuteness and charisma, we raised $160,000 on the day which will help us to continue to provide life-changing care to children who are deaf, and their families.

Thank you to everyone who donated!

You can help us change lives

For every $1 we spend on fundraising, we can raise $3 to continue giving children with hearing loss a voice. Through your support, we can continue to provide world-leading services, and reach more children with hearing loss that need our help.
