Messy Play: Exploring Sound, Senses & Connection

Group Program – Term 2, 2026

Messy Play is a hands-on sensory experience designed to engage children’s senses, touch, sight, sound, smell, and taste, while fostering curiosity, learning, and connection to their listening and hearing world.

Each session is designed to provide a rich learning environment where the children can explore and engage their senses through play and creative activities; whilst developing their listening and speaking skills in this fun filled stimulating environment with their peers.

What to expect:

  • Creative, multi-sensory activities that encourage children to explore and learn
  • A rich play-based learning experience designed to support listening and speaking skills
  • Social skill development, including turn-taking, sharing, and teamwork
  • Opportunities for parent connection and shared experiences

Led by experienced early childhood educators alongside The Shepherd Centre’s expert clinicians, this program includes five 1-hour sessions filled with creativity, exploration, and connection. Siblings are welcome to join!

Why join?

  • Have fun and bond with your child through sensory play
  • Support your child’s listening, speaking, and social development
  • Learn new ways to create engaging sensory experiences at home
  • Observe and reflect on your child’s interactions in a group setting
