Our impact reports explore and summarise our impact and key achievements each year.
2023 was another momentous year for The Shepherd Centre as we extended our national footprint to include a new premises in Oran Park in Sydney’s west and a new, permanent home in Hobart, Tasmania, as we now cater to over 900 children and young people with hearing loss.Â
The opening of these new state-of-the-art facilities, in areas previously lacking access to specialist support, will ensure that future generations of children with hearing loss have now been given every chance to listen, be heard and fulfil their potential.Â
But, our impact isn’t limited to just Australia, with our internationally available ‘HearHub’ platform expanding to provide even more professionals with vital courses and clinical tools, while our partnership with the Shizuoka Prefecture in Japan continues to grow in scale.Â
Beyond these terrific achievements, and at the heart of everything we do, it has been especially gratifying to celebrate our 65 new graduates who all have commenced their education at their chosen schools and with listening and speaking skills similar to those of their typical hearing peers.Â
These are just a few of the milestones reached in 2023 as we look back and pay tribute to all our students, families, donors and staff who have made this possible.Â
The Shepherd Centre acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands where we work. We pay our respects to elders past and present.
