The Shepherd Centre (TSC) is a highly regarded not-for-profit, providing specialised programs for children with hearing loss and their families. Our programs meet the needs of children of all ages; from our world-leading early intervention program for babies and toddlers, through to our mentoring program ‘Hear for You’ for school-aged children and teenagers. We have been empowering generations of children with hearing loss to listen, speak and have a voice for over 50 years, creating a world of choice and amplifying possibility.

TSC currently supports over 900 families all over Australia, providing in-person and online support from 10 locations across NSW, ACT, Queensland and Tasmania. Our global platform HearHub, supports health professionals working with children with hearing loss all over the world.

About the role

The Shepherd Centre is looking to grow its fundraising income from both organisations and individuals within the wider community. The Fundraising Administrator’s role is to coordinate the Clubs and Council Grants, support Community Fundraising programs, and provide donor administration support across the Individual Giving Team. This role will focus on identifying and nurturing relationships with new and existing clubs, councils, community groups, and community fundraisers. The role will develop mutually beneficial relationships with community organisations and achieve the fundraising targets set by the fundraising strategy and KPIs.

This is a fixed term part-time 22.80 hours per week opportunity, which can be worked across 3 to 5 days per week. Actual working days can be negotiated with the succesful candidate.

Day to day, you will be involved in tasks such as:

  • Coordinate the Clubs & Councils program including research, writing, and acquittal of Club and Council grant applications
  • Building and stewardship relationships with Clubs, Councils, Community Groups and Partners
  • Monthly tracking of the Community Grants program activities
  • Explore new opportunities for grant funding from Clubs, Councils, and Community Groups
  • Support Community Engagement Manager to develop community engagement, partnerships and supporter-led community fundraising
  • Develop a strategy for community engagement and growth in supporter-led fundraising
  • Support peer-to-peer fundraising activities
  • Processing and receipting of donations
  • Assisting with small event planning
  • Tracking activity and analysing results across fundraising programs
  • Record and maintain accurate information in the CRM, Microsoft Dynamics

About You

The successful candidate for this role will ideally have:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in an administrative role
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Well-developed spoken, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • Fundraising experience desired but not essential
  • Willingness to obtain a Working with Children and NDIS Worker Check and obtain full vaccination for COVID-19 (2 doses)
  • Full working rights to work in Australia
